Today's search focus: Sommelier for a prominent super luxury international hotel group in India for their flagship property.  The incumbent is responsible for the development and management of the A’La Carte Wine Program including the Wine List, Wine Locker Program and Wine Society.  The incumbent should be a minimum WEST level 3 and TABC certified.

This position is open to INDIAN nationals only who are currently working with prominent Indian & International hotel groups in India/ overseas in a similar capacity. Current/ past international work experience is  an added advantage for the said position.

Key Specifications



Candidate should have 4-8 years of experience and should have vast knowledge of Wines and Spirits including a minimum of WSET Level 3.

Specializes in all aspects of wine service as well as wine and food pairing. 

Will be responsible for the development of wine lists and for the delivery of wine service and training for the other restaurant staff.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Responsible for ordering, receiving, inventory, organizing and selling wine for all departments

·         Oversee all wine purchases and cost management

·         Oversee the Wine Committee duties (minutes, wine of the month selection, introduction of new vendors, wineries, etc.)

·         Assist members and guests during the dinner service with wine recommendations and selection for perfect pairing with their dinner, decanting of the wine and wine service

·         Develop a training program for all Team Members to improve their knowledge of wine tasting and wine service

·         The ability to determine wine faults and maintain proper temperatures in order to showcase products at their maximum potential.

REQUIRED SKILL SETS:

·         A strong knowledge of food and beverage pairings

·         Solid understanding of pricing, budgets and cost controls

·         TABC certified

·         Must be passionate about wine
